My Thought's on Kinect

It's 2009 and im watching the live feed of E3,and they announce project natal,they promised a non controller experience,and showed a few tech demos.
I was sold,i had to have it,it sounded amazing,it had to be pre ordered,12 long months passed and another E3 arrived with the official name for project natal "KINECT" with full demos of kinect sports and kinectimals and a lot more and a official release date for europe.
My excitement could not be contained,november 10th arrived and all day i waited for royal mail to arrive, 9am,12pm,3pm all passed but no kinect,4pm,6pm and 8pm and still no kinect i was gutted,ah well maybe tommorow.
November 11th,9pm 10pm,11pm,12pm still no royal mail,i was starting to get pissed off,1pm,2pm still no kinect!and then a knock at the door WOOHOO mr postman.
Yes it was hear,i opened the box carefully checking out the beauty of what is kinect black,shiny new tec.
I went through the setup process which was so easy,but if you are reading this and are expecting this for christmas i encourage you to take your time with it and remember that you can adjust the kinects default angle as i did not realise this and was wondering why kinect was only seeing me from my head to my shins.

That much room is not needed to play kinect

A lot has been made of the amount of space that is needed to play kinect and this did concern me in the run upto recieving kinect as i live in a tiny two up two down in cheshire,but i had no issues at all and at a push we managed two players on kinect adventures and kinect sports.(see pic )

But.......yes there is a BUT in my opinion,its the games,although great fun to play they soon get very tired very quickly to the point where even my 4 year old was not even bothering with it,it quickly turned into a very expensive webcam sat on top of the T.V,so when i switched my 360 on one day and kinect did its little party trick of scanning the room and got stuck looking down at the floor it really did not concern me as i knew this would give me a great excuse to get my money back and buy a wii,yes a wii.

Now please do not get me wrong kinect is an amazing bit of technology and i am really looking forward to seeing where developers will go with it,but at this time i do not think there is enough software out there to warrant spending the money on it,even when i look at friends gamercards via xbox live and on the forums people are not just playing on it,and if they do its for twenty minutes and they are back on Black Ops or FIFA again.
I for one do not regret getting my money back for kinect and buying a wii,with a larger catalogue of games and shovelware which i will bet my life on will arrive on kinect.
So in conclusion if you have the £130 going spare and you really want it go for it,but if your in two minds i really would wait for some bigger better games to come along.
